CLASS OF 2010 (SENIORS)

The Class of 2010 had some solid performers in the camp. They were led by Ron Fore (6’8” P Salida), who was named the Top Senior and Co-Most Outstanding Player in the event. Fore was tremendous all day long in both the drill sessions and the games. He is a hard working, natural leader with tons of upside. He runs the floor well, finishes well and has wonderful defensive instincts. With some added development he can be a great RMAC player in college. The other senior to make the All Event Team was Fore’s high school teammate James Bove (6’2” SG Salida). He is a strong guard who attacks the rim well and shoots the ball well enough to keep defenders honest.

Other seniors who played well but didn’t quite make the All Event Team were Derik Perez (6’5” SF University) and Josh Jones (6’5” SF Salida). Perez is a strong mid-sized player who finishes well at the rim and plays hard. Jones is a long wing player who defends well and gets to the rim with crafty moves.

CLASS OF 2011 (JUNIORS)

The Class of 2011 made a very strong showing in the event and placed nine players on the All Event Team. They were led by Brett Olson (6’4” SG Highlands Ranch), who was named Top Junior in the event. He is a sweet shooting wing who has been improving his ability to get to the rim. He also seems to be growing and should be a very nice college prospect with an expected strong season. Cameron Michael (6’3” SG Loveland) also had a strong camp. He is a great shooter and natural scorer who plays very hard on defense. He should also have a huge junior season. Bobby Lebsock (6’4” SF Sterling) also had a tremendous camp. He came out of nowhere and should skyrocket up the rankings with his strong performance. He is a strong wing who attacks the rim well and plays very hard.

Craig Saltarelli (5’11” PG Fairview) was very impressive in the event. He is a very heady point guard who plays hard and makes his teammates better. He sees the floor very well and does a great job creating going to the rim. Dominique Wright (6’6” SF Fountain-Fort Carson) is a nice looking prospect who scores well at the rim. He is very strong and has a quick first step and is very active in the paint. Some added development could make him a very solid prospect. Nick Mayes (6’5” CF Laramie, WY) is a very active player who plays with a ton of energy. He finishes very well around the rim with both hands and plays very hard. His strong performance in the camp should help bolster his stock tremendously.

Two strong lead guards, Isaiah Forsyth (5’11” PG Steamboat Springs) and Steve Gentile (6’0” CG Salida) made the All Event Team with their strong play in the camp. Forsyth is a smart left handed point guard who makes his teammates better and creates well going to the rim. He is also very strong and defends well. He is one of the most underrated point guards in the state and should have a strong junior season. Gentile is a versatile lead guard who plays very hard on both ends of the floor. He creates opportunities for his teammates and himself with crafty moves to the rim. The final junior to make the All Event Team was Kerrick Rees (6’4” SF Regis). He came out of virtually nowhere in the camp should shoot up the rankings with his strong performance. He has always been a great shooter but he demonstrated his improved ability to get to the rim in the event. He also plays with a great deal of energy.

A few other juniors who played well in the event but didn’t quite make the All Event Team were Matt Hopper (6’5” SF Rock Canyon) and Aaron Sanders (5’9” PG Northridge).Hopper is a smooth wing who shoots the ball well and gets to the rim and seems to be growing rapidly. Sanders is a heady point guard who creates well and plays hard.

CLASS OF 2012 (SOPHOMORES)

The Class of 2012 also made an impressive showing in the event as well. Cory Calvert (6’1” PG Chaparral) was outstanding all day long and was named Top Sophomore and Co-Most Outstanding Player in the camp. He worked very hard in the drill sessions and was virtually unstoppable in the games. Calvert is a tremendous lead guard who plays very hard and creates a ton of opportunities for his teammates. He attacks the rim using a quick first step and great footwork and finishes well in traffic. He is also shooting the ball better than ever. His exceptional performance in the event solidifies him as a top five prospect in his class. Sheldon Darnell (6’7” CF Greeley Central) gave Calvert a run for his money for the Top Sophomore award. He exploded onto the scene with his fantastic play in the event and is certainly one of the top players and prospects in his class. He is a smooth combo forward who has a nice shooting touch out to the stripe. He runs the floor well and is very active around the rim as well. He also uses his athleticism to get to the rim. With some added development and strength he could turn into a nice Division I prospect.

Jalen Little (5’10” PG Palmer) was also fantastic in the event. He is a slick point guard who handles the ball like it’s on a string. He is very unselfish and seems to always find the open man and is shooting the ball better than ever. Nate Engesser (6’3” SG Colorado Springs Christian) is a great looking prospect with a ton of upside. He is one of the best shooters in the state, regardless of class, and should be one of the top players in 3A this season. Derrick White (5’10” SG Legend) also made a strong showing in the event. He is a rapidly improving and growing wing who shoots the ball well and plays very hard. Continued growth will help boost his stock and he should have a great season.

Other sophomores who played well but didn’t quite make the All Event Team include Stone Hood (6’3” SF Discovery Canyon), Michael Zeller (6’3” SF Green Mountain) and Jackson Cain (6’2” SG Heritage). Hood is a very strong mid-sized player who finishes well at the rim. Zeller is a rapidly improving wing who plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor. Cain is a strong guard who has a quick first step and gets to the rim well.

CLASS OF 2013 (FRESHMEN)

The Class of 2013 was led by Thomas Trotman (5’8” PG Arapahoe), who was named the Top Freshmen in the event. He is a smart point guard who handles the ball well in traffic and creates well for his teammates. He is very strong and shoots the ball well. Some added growth should help him turn into a very nice player in the future. While Trotman was the only freshmen to make the All Event Team, a few other played well, including Jonathan Parker (6’1” SG Discovery Canyon) and Tyler Loose (5’11” CG Laramie, WY). Parker is a strong wing player who gets to the rim well. Loose is a heady lead guard who plays hard on both ends of the floor and shoots the ball well.
