FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
David Matthews is the founder and President of the Colorado Chaos Basketball Club, Inc., one of the largest and most respected AAU programs in the nation. Matthews, who graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in History with a double minor in Journalism and Political Science, was one of the youngest people in the history of the state of Colorado to be a President of a non-profit when he founded the Colorado Chaos in 2000. He is widely regarded as the premier basketball mind in the entire Rocky Mountain Region and one of the biggest advocates and hardest workers for the promotion of Colorado prep basketball you will find anywhere. Through the years, hundreds of college coaches and scouts have come to count on his expertise concerning Colorado and Wyoming prep players.
The Colorado Chaos Basketball Club is the premier AAU program in the Rocky Mountain Region with a total of fifteen elite boy’s teams, ranging in age from 12-17. Over the past six years Colorado Chaos teams have produced an un-paralleled 141 college basketball players, 43 of whom are playing at the Division I level. To date, Colorado Chaos players have earned roughly five million dollars in scholarship money towards achieving a higher education at the collegiate level. Colorado Chaos teams have played in fourteen different states and every U.S. time zone in order for them to obtain exposure with college coaches and gain valuable experience playing against the top competition in the country. The Colorado Chaos also places a huge emphasis on Player Development and offers countless individual and small group workout sessions designed to improve players overall skill level. The Colorado Chaos is one of the most respected AAU programs in the country by college coaches and scouts and one of only four programs in the Mountain Time Zone, and the only Colorado program, to be ranked as one of the top 50 AAU programs in the country each of the past five years. The Colorado Chaos is also the only AAU program in the region to be affiliated with Reebok Grassroots Basketball.

The Rocky Mountain Fall Showcase all star games have become the biggest single event in the state and attract over 1,000 spectators and countless college coaches and scouts annually. The Top of the Rockies is the premier AAU tournament in the region and the only tournament that has gained recognition in some of the nations top basketball publications.

Matthews is also a featured guest on the Colorado Preps radio network during the high school basketball season with a weekly interview about some of the top performers in the state and was recently featured in a coffee table book about some of Colorado’s most influential people in the lives of children. Recently, he began publishing the Rocky Mountain Hoop Report, a one of a kind subscription only publication for college coaches and basketball fans covering Colorado and Wyoming prep basketball.
